Tuna Melt

Tuna Melt

Description of the Dish

Canned and pouch tuna are great pantry staples to regularly keep on hand. While you might think of tuna salad as being cold, warming it up for a satisfying melt is a wonderful spin that only takes one extra step. Golden crispy bread paired with the savory tuna and boldness of Cheddar makes the perfect bite for this handheld entrée that comes together in less than 15 minutes. — Robin Fields, The Easy Three-Ingredient College Cookbook

Preparation Instructions

  1. Warm a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a small bowl, mix tuna and 1 tablespoon mayonnaise. Spread remaining mayonnaise onto one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place slices of bread on a clean work surface, mayonnaise-coated sides facing down. Spoon tuna mixture onto one slice of bread. Place cheese on top of tuna and top sandwich with the other slice of bread, with mayonnaise side facing up.
